Assistant Accountant - Northern Beaches

Role commencing in Late January / Early February 2026

Our Client is a dynamic and expanding SME offering a friendly supportive team environment while providing services to a corporate client base. They are a company who fosters a collaborative and growth oriented environment and due to expansion are seeking an enthusiastic and detail driven Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Team.

The Role is perfect for someone with strong technical skills, high attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving. If you are looking to grow within a supportive team or alternatively returning to the work force this role could be for you!

You will play a key role in supporting daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all processes. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivables, performing reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger and assisting with month end and year end reporting.

Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
• Process and reconcile AP and AR transactions
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• GL and inventory maintenance
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Support GST, BAS and other tax compliance reporting
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Liaise with internal teams and external accountants
• Provide administrative and ad hoc financial support as required

Skills & Attributes
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or studying towards
• Previous experience in an accounting role preferably within an SME
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (MYOB Acumatica)
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Positive, proactive attitude toward learning and development

Desirable
• Experience with MYOB Acumatica
• Knowledge of Australian taxation laws (GST/BAS)
• Prior experience in SME environments
